Where Piringi started:
Piringi was looking for employment and was supported by Te Matarau to develop a clear pathway into work.
Support from Te Matarau:
Te Matarau supported Piringi with pathway planning, CV building, cover letter development, job searching and applications, interview preparation and connecting with local employment opportunities. Piringi was also supported to complete their COA security licence requirements and Defensive Driving training.
Te Matarau supported Piringi through the application and interview process with Armourguard Security.
Outcome:
Piringi was successful in their interview with Armourguard and gained employment as a Security Guard at the hospital. They have continued working in the security industry and are now being supported to progress their driver’s licence further.
Piringi has also been given opportunities to encourage other rangatahi to consider training and employment pathways, showing the positive progress they have made.
